Internet-ready devices use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content to your television, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast.

Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications.

Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision.

3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

	A Display First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
	A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
	3D Content 3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
	3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
	HDMI Cable To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Immerse yourself in 3D entertainment with a compatible 3D HDTV setup. The BD-HP35U is ready to play back the latest 3D Blu-ray titles, and to take your entertainment experience to the next level.

USB/Network Multimedia File Playback

View both still and video digital images recorded in HD onto a CD-RW/R, from a USB drive, or streamed from your network. You can also play back MP3 audio files and Divx HD format video.

Connected Entertainment

Using a connection to the Internet, the BD-HP35U provides built-in access to BD Live bonus content as well as CinemaNow, Netflix, Vudu, and YouTube. You can also stream music using Pandora.

Wireless Adapter Included

The BD-HP35U includes Sharp's wireless adapter. Just plug it into the USB port, and you'll be able to wirelessly connect to your home network. Enjoy Internet content or your own media from DLNA devices without the need for cables.

DVD Up-Scaling

Your existing standard-definition DVD library will look better than ever with the BD-HP35U. By optimizing standard DVD playback signals to 1080p (when displaying on a 1080p capable HDTV through the HDMI connection), the BD-HP35U can deliver more DVD picture quality as the frames are unconverted pixel by pixel, not just frame by frame.

AQUOS LINK Function

Why use two remotes when you can use one? The AQUOS LINK function allows you to control both your AQUOS LCD TV and your AQUOS Blu-ray Disc player together. When you connect your AQUOS LCD TV to the Blu-ray Disc player via an HDMI connection, you will have seamless interoperability between the two. AQUOS LINK also features the ability to control on-screen with other manufacturers' remotes.

BD-Live

This Blu-ray feature gives you access to a wide variety of real-time content via a network connection, such as movie scene extras, new previews, games, chat, and more. The Bonus View function provides access to picture-in-picture special features, allowing you to simultaneously watch your favorite movie scenes and added bonus features (on compatible discs).

AQUOS Pure Mode

Another Sharp technology, AQUOS Pure Mode provides seamless optimization of Blu-ray Disc content. When the Sharp BD-HP35U is connected to an AQUOS TV through an HDMI cable, the AQUOS TV will automatically switch to "dot by dot" mode to deliver full 1080 video content, for the best possible picture.

DLNA Network Connection

The DLNA Digital Living Network Alliance defines a standard for moving movies, photos, music and other media from a network to a Blu-ray player. DLNA servers can store media in one location and can stream the content to DLNA compliant players for playback at a remote location. This Blu-ray Disc player is DLNA certified, and ready to connect to your media over your home network.
